# Download task artifact

> Download full or partial binary content and handle pending artifacts.

`GET /v1/tasks/{key}/artifacts/{artifact_key}/content`

`key` is the task ID; select `artifact_key` from the listing. Task access is required. Server-generated temporary URLs provide a separate scoped access mechanism; clients must not invent signatures.

GET returns binary content; HEAD has headers only. Pending tasks return 409, missing/inaccessible results or keys 404, and unavailable plugins 503. `Range`, `If-Range`, `If-None-Match`, and `If-Modified-Since` are forwarded. Status 200 / 206 / 304 / 416 and cache headers depend on storage and upstream; Range support is not universal. Do not save 206 as a complete file. See [download example](/en/guides/tasks).
